"Antithesis" is a piece with an abstract form. It should be played freely and senza misura. Its rhythm and harmony give an improvisational style to the piece and a mysterious atmosphere.The title refers to the often and clear changes of tempo. Basically, it describes the coupling of two totally different worlds, the calm and the chaotic one. The calm world has a more melodic and poetic style unlike the chaotic world which is characterized by a very fast tempo and abrupt fluctuations of sound.
